Matt Steady fought hard and succeeded with Sam Phipps to get into the final three.

Betty Anne Kearney fought the fight of a lifetime to get into the finals of her category and take Silver Medal, although there was an uproar when the decision was given against her. Most people present thought she had won the European Title, still, ...... next time, .. she will be back!

European Full Contact Stick Fighting Championships

Today sees the arrival of the fighters from The English Combat Fighting System in Germany for the European Full Contact Stick Fighting Championships in Berlin.

English Combat wishes it's fighters well and waits to hear the outcome.

So many English Combat Fighters have been successful at National, International and World level at Competitions around the World that it is difficult to maintain such an incredibly high standard as those that have gone before.

It is true to say that even though this is the case, each fighter goes into the fighting arena with pride and determination to succeed.

The skill and training development of each fighter is at an extremely high level.

Each will strive to become a Paladdin.

A proven World standard English Fighting System.

English Combat is a unique fighting system that is a combination of techniques and weapons drawn from English fighting processes down the centuries. The Founder and Chief Instructor is Terry Glover B.E.M

Put together over four hundred years of unbroken service to the English Crown and English Country, it has triumphed over other more popular world famous martial arts.

The members of the Glover Family that served in uniform over this period added English Fighting techniques over succeeding generations. This continual update of local skills gave a rich variety of proven battlefield skills to the system.

Included within the system Training Manual, are instructions to gain skills in English Quarterstaff, Single Stick, Double Stick, Knife, Axe, Throwing Knife, Throwing Axe, unarmed skills, Punching, Kicking, Holding, Grappling, Throwing and Bare Knuckle.

The Glover Family English Combat Fighting System includes an need for English pride to be reinstated after years of abuse by Politically correct zealots that want England to subside quietly into history.

The founder, Terry Glover B.E.M. has shown that England can produce it's own heroes to stand upon the World stage. The English Combat System can give instruction to all peoples in how to achieve World Title recognition and to show all English people that they do not need to turn to foreign martial arts to become accomplished fighters both armed or unarmed.

Whether an individual needs to achieve World recognition or simply Champion the cause of England, this can be done with application of the skills.

Included within the system is the opportunity for all Scouts Worldwide to obtain the Master at Arms proficiency or merit badge. This can be accomplished using the original requirement for the Badge to be obtained by gaining an ability in the English Quarterstaff or Single Stick.

The seperate instruction for the Master at Arms Badge is included in a seperate book on sale on the website: Scouts Master at Arms Badge

The Historical aspects of the English Combat Fighting System is catered for in the History segment showing how different Periods in English History gave unique english martial arts abilities to English heroes and heroines that enabled the English to dominate on the battlefield.

The homepage of English Combat allows a visitor to surf through many different pages and gain awareness of how England developed it's own military individual attributes.
